How can I extend the battery life of my electric cargo tricycle?
To extend the service life of your electric cargo tricycle battery, you can follow these practical daily usage and charging habits, which apply to both lead-acid and lithium batteries.
Avoid full discharge
Do not run the battery completely empty before charging.Recharge when the remaining power is around 20%–30%;deep discharge significantly shortens battery life.
Charge in time after use
Charge the battery as soon as possible after driving, especially under heavy load.Do not leave it in a low-power state for a long time.
Do not overcharge
Unplug the charger in time after full charge.Prolonged overcharging causes water loss in lead-acid batteries and heat damage in lithium batteries.
Use a matching charger
Always use the original or standard-matching charger.Mismatched voltage or current will damage internal battery cells.
Avoid high-load and long climbs
Heavy overload, steep slopes, and rapid acceleration increase discharge current, accelerating battery aging.
Maintain proper charging temperature
Charge at a normal temperature between 5°C and 35°C.Avoid charging in high-temperature exposure or freezing environments.
Keep the battery clean and dry
Prevent water from entering the battery box and keep terminals clean to avoid poor contact, corrosion,or leakage.
Store properly when not in use
If the vehicle is idle for a long time, charge it to about 60%–80%and recharge it every 1–2 months to prevent self-discharge damage.
