Long term parking and maintenance methods for fuel powered tricycles

Long term idle fuel powered tricycles are prone to problems such as battery depletion, oil deterioration, oil blockage, tire deformation, rust and jamming. The following maintenance steps should be taken to ensure that they can be started and driven normally when reused.

Firstly, deal with the fuel and engine. Try to use up the gasoline in the fuel tank as much as possible, or fill it up with fuel and tighten the fuel tank cap to prevent volatilization, deterioration, and gum blockage of the carburetor; Drain the old engine oil and add new oil to prevent the old oil from corroding the interior of the engine; Remove the spark plug, inject a small amount of new engine oil into the cylinder, lightly step on the starter lever a few times to form an oil film on the cylinder wall to prevent rust, and then reinstall the spark plug.

The battery is a key maintenance component. Long term parking is the most likely to result in electrical waste. It is recommended to remove the battery, clean the terminals, place them in a dry and ventilated place, and recharge them every 1-2 months; If not disassembled, the negative terminal should be disconnected to reduce self discharge and prevent power loss and inability to start.

Body and transmission system protection. Park the vehicle in a dry, ventilated, rainproof, and sun protected area. It is best to use double ladders to lift the tires off the ground to avoid long-term deformation under pressure; Apply lubricating oil to rotating parts such as chains, brake shafts, and bearings to prevent rusting and jamming; Adjust the brake to a relaxed state to avoid prolonged tension on the cable.

Appearance and other details. Clean the dirt and stains on the car body, wipe off the moisture, and spray rust inhibitor on the frame and metal parts; Check the tire pressure and inflate it appropriately; Turn off the fuel tank switch to prevent fuel leakage; Cover the car with dust-proof and rainproof clothing to prevent plastic parts from aging and paint fading due to direct sunlight exposure.

Before restarting, check the engine oil, fuel, and battery first. Step on the starter lever several times with air pressure, and then test start with power to avoid damaging components by forcibly igniting.
