The main difference lies in design purpose,load capacity,structure,and performance orientation.An electric cargo tricycle is specially built for heavy load and transportation,while a normal electric tricycle focuses on daily riding,passenger use,or light carrying.
Load capacity
Electric cargo tricycles are designed with high load-bearing performance,usually supporting 300–1000 kg.Normal electric tricycles are mainly for people or light goods,with a load capacity generally under 200 kg.
Frame and body structure
Cargo models use thickened steel frames,reinforced rear axles,heavy-duty springs,and large cargo boxes for durability under heavy loads.Normal tricycles use lighter frames and smaller baskets or passenger seats,focusing on comfort and light use.
Power system
Cargo tricycles are equipped with high-power motors(800W–3000W+)and high-capacity batteries to ensure climbing ability and continuous output under full load.Ordinary tricycles use small and medium-power motors for daily commuting.
Application scenarios
Electric cargo tricycles are widely used in logistics delivery,agricultural transportation,factory handling,construction sites,and urban freight.Normal electric tricycles are mostly used for family travel,elderly mobility,short-distance trips,and light shopping.
Braking and stability
Cargo tricycles often adopt hydraulic brakes,dual braking systems,and wider tires to ensure safety when fully loaded.Standard tricycles use conventional drum brakes and basic tire configurations.
